Beyond Fat and Cholesterol: Is Animal Protein Itself a Migraine Trigger?
This project presents a case-based hypothesis suggesting that animal-derived proteins, even in their purest forms such as isolated egg whites, may act as migraine triggers in susceptible individuals. Based on a personal experience of complete migraine remission during a strict vegan diet, followed by symptom recurrence upon reintroduction of various animal proteins, the paper explores potential neurological, immunological, and gut-brain mechanisms underlying this reaction. The hypothesis challenges the assumption of protein equivalence between plant and animal sources and invites further scientific investigation.
