Gender Bias Injustice: A Sociological Analysis of the Role, Stigma, And Domination Of Patriarchy Over Women
Gender bias is one of the most entrenched forms of structural injustice in society, affecting women's life experiences from domestic to public spaces. This inequality appears in various forms, ranging from the unequal distribution of social roles, restrictions on access to education and employment, to the emergence of social stigma that labels women based on patriarchal norms and standards. This article aims to analyze gender bias as a systemic social phenomenon, highlighting the injustices of the roles women receive as well as the social stigma perpetuated by cultures and social institutions. This research uses a qualitative approach through a literature review of national and international scientific journals published in the last five years, as well as the theoretical framework of structural feminism, social role theory, and cultural hegemony in the style of Gramsci. The results of the study show that women are still faced with social constructions that limit their space of movement and life choices. In educational institutions, there is still a curriculum bias that reinforces gender stereotypes; In the world of work, women are often placed in the informal sector with low wages; And in family life, the double burden and neglect of unpaid household chores is still an inevitable reality. In addition, social stigma against women who are unmarried, widowed, or who choose a professional career often creates psychosocial pressure and marginalization. This phenomenon confirms that gender bias is not only personal, but is part of a social structure that operates through culture, language, religion, law, and media.
