EVIDÊNCIAS CIENTÍFICAS SOBRE A VIOLÊNCIA PERPETRADA CONTRA PROFISSIONAIS DA SAÚDE EM AMBIENTE HOSPITALAR: UMA REVISÃO DE ESCOPO

Contextualization: Workplace violence is characterized by physical and psychological aggression and harassment, which directly affect the health and performance of health professionals, resulting in negative consequences for both workers and institutions. In this context, there is a need to investigate the specificities and particularities in the work of health professionals, especially in hospital settings. In addition, it is essential to explore the factors that lead to underreporting of violence, an obstacle that prevents understanding the real situation of this problem in institutions. It is worth mentioning that no reviews or protocols with the same objectives as this proposal were found, according to a previous search in the Open Science Framework (OSF), JBI Evidence Synthesis and Medical Literature and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE/PubMed) sources. Objective: To map scientific evidence on violence perpetrated against health professionals in a hospital setting. Method: The scoping review will be based on the JBI methodology. Studies that address violence against health professionals in hospital settings will be included. Duplicate and superficial files that do not address violence in the workplace of healthcare professionals in hospital settings will be excluded, as will documents that are unavailable after two attempts to contact the authors. The review question and other details of the selection criteria were developed using the PCC (Population; Concept and Context) mnemonic strategy. Searches will be conducted in the following sources: MEDLINE, SCOPUS, EMBASE, Web of Science, COCHRANE and Google Scholar, as gray literature, and accessed through the CAPES Journal Portal. After testing, the following advanced search strategy was defined for MEDLINE: (“Workplace Violence”[Title/Abstract]) OR (“Physical Abuse”[ Title/Abstract])) OR (Racism[Title/Abstract])) OR (Bullying[Title/Abstract])) OR (“Sexual Harassment”[Title/Abstract])) OR (Assault[Title/Abstract])) OR (“Physical Abuse”[Title/Abstract])) OR (“Assault Violence”[Title/Abstract])) OR (“Racial Discrimination”[Title/Abstract])) OR (“Racial Bias”[Title/Abstract])) OR (“Racial Prejudice”[Title/Abstract])) OR (“Covert Racism”[Title/Abstract])) OR (“Racism Physical Assault”[Title/Abstract])) OR (“Physical Assault”[Title/Abstract]) AND (Hospitals[Title/Abstract]) . It was adapted for other search sources. A screening and selection will be carried out using the Endnot Web and Rayyan software. This step will be developed by two qualified reviewers, as well as the protection and synthesis of evidence. A third party will be consulted, when necessary. The extracted data will be entered into Excel and submitted to descriptive and narrative analysis. Expected results: to identify scientific evidence that can support the conduct of future studies, the formulation of prevention and intervention policies, and the implementation of safe practices to mitigate violence against health professionals in hospital settings.
