Wound Theory Project
Wound Theory is a unifying framework linking early attachment wounds to political identity, ideology, addiction, and other forms of “fusion” — the rigid identification with external systems for emotional regulation. Integrating developmental neuroscience, attachment theory, and political psychology, the model explains how childhood emotional dysregulation predisposes individuals to seek external regulatory anchors, shaping both personal coping strategies and large-scale social movements. This project hosts the foundational manuscript — On the Origin of Human Fusion: A Unified Theory of Compensatory Regulation — along with related diagrams, commentary, and outreach material for researchers, clinicians, and policymakers.
