Methodology

This scoping review will follow the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology for scoping reviews (Joanna Briggs institute, 2015). The review will be reported in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) Checklist. Participant population: The population of interest will be adult patients admitted to a hospital, who were identified as eligible for HITH services using AH clinicians. PICOS below: P: adult patients admitted to a hospital I: allied health intervention in HITH or interim care equivalent C: nil required, or patients who remained in hospital for their care with AH O: any outcomes related to the use of AH HITH services including safety, cost effectiveness, patient reported outcomes such as satisfaction, experience, with the service or quality of life measure and clinician feedback. A detailed search strategy with the most appropriate search terms, is currently being developed with the GCHHS librarian (SE). Data collection methods A comprehensive search of multiple databases (PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Scopus, and Google Scholar) will be conducted. Data screening for inclusion will take place using Covidence software. To reduce bias, any two reviewers (HJ, DM, SE, LH) will check the title and abstract independently. Any disagreements will be discussed with a third reviewer. Two reviewers will check titles and abstracts and selected full texts (HJ, LH, DM and SE). Data extraction will be performed by two reviewers (HJ and SE) and any 20% will be checked by LH. Any disagreements will be discussed with LH.
