Self-report instruments for the assessment of eating disorders in adults in Brazil: a scoping review

Scoping review aiming to map and synthesize the standardized self-report instruments available for the assessment of eating disorders in adults in Brazil. The search will be conducted in the following databases: LILACS, SciELO, PubMed, PsycINFO, Scopus, Web of Science, and CINAHL. Additionally, grey literature will be explored using Google Scholar. Identified records will be imported into Zotero reference management software, where duplicates will be removed. The remaining studies will be screened in two phases: title and abstract review (phase 1), followed by full-text reading of eligible studies (phase 2), based on predefined eligibility criteria. Reference lists of included articles will also be reviewed to identify additional relevant sources. Data from the selected studies will be extracted using a characterization table including identification of the publication, methodological attributes, results, limitations and recommendations. The main findings of the studies included in the final research sample will be rigorously analyzed and synthesized, with subsequent organization into charts and tables, to facilitate understanding and arrangement of findings.
