Minimizing Readout and State Preparation Time for Neutral Atom Quantum Computing

In order to minimize time spent on readout and state preparation of neutral atom quantum computers, we investigate different algorithms for analyzing fluorescence images and establish an absolute bound on the precision of a perfect estimator. There seems to be a clear trade-off between algorithm run time and accuracy, with a global solver being most accurate. Most importantly, there are several methods that present a compelling compromise between the two extremes.

Abstract

In order to minimize time spent on readout and state preparation of neutral atom quantum computers, we investigate different algorithms for analyzing fluorescence images and establish an absolute bound on the precision of a perfect estimator. There seems to be a clear trade-off between algorithm run time and accuracy, with a global solver being most accurate. Most importantly, there are several methods that present a compelling compromise between the two extremes.
