DEMEDICALIZATION IN PSYCHOSOCIAL CARE CENTERS: A REVIEW OF STRATEGIES AND CHALLENGES IN MENTAL HEALTH CARE
This study is a scoping review protocol aimed at mapping and synthesizing the available evidence on desmedicalization practices within Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS). Its objective is to identify non-pharmacological interventions and desmedicalization actions carried out by CAPS professionals, as well as the main challenges faced in practice. The research is based on the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology, following the PCC framework (Population, Concept, and Context). The literature search will be conducted in scientific databases, with a rigorous selection and analysis process. The goal is to produce a critical and reflective analysis of the strategies adopted in CAPS to care for individuals experiencing psychological distress, mental disorders, and problems related to psychoactive substance use.
