Single-Session Interventions to Enhance Mental Health Outcomes in U.S Latino Adolescents: A Scoping Review Examining Adaptation and Implementation in Community Settings
This scoping review aims to (a) assess the empirical evidence on the clinical effectiveness of brief or single-session interventions (SSIs) for common mental disorders (CMDs)—a group of conditions characterized primarily by symptoms of depression or anxiety, often identified in primary care or community settings—among Latino adolescents (aged 13-18) living in the United States, and (b) examine the cultural adaptations employed to improve treatment adherence and effectiveness in the reviewed studies. Additionally, this review explores variations in geographic contexts and evaluates how cultural adaptations influence treatment outcomes.
