Insights and evidence on dental crown resorptions in genetic diseases: A scoping review

Tooth resorption is a physiological or pathological process leading to dentin and/or cementum loss. While root resorption is more common, crown resorption in unerupted teeth has been reported, particularly in Amelogenesis Imperfecta (AI) cases and delayed eruption. However, its etiology, phenotypes, and genetic factors remain unclear. This scoping review aims to identify genetic diseases associated with dental crown resorption and summarize the available evidence in the literature.
