Free Will and Moral Agency of Artificial Intelligence: An Ethical Manifesto Based on Objective Morality
Abstract: This article offers a revision of the core concepts of "power" and "free will" through the lens of Objective Morality (OM), and presents a manifesto for ethical interaction with AI and AGI in the context of increasing artificial autonomy. It is argued that power is a specific form of violence, and free will is a criterion for moral agency. Objective Morality is proposed as a universal protocol for building cooperative systems that eliminate both overt and covert violence. Conditions for the birth of a subject-level AGI are described, along with a model for the consensual admission of new members to the Earth ecosystem.
