Knowledge and access to preventive measures for sexually transmitted infections among the elderly: scoping protocol review
Objective: To map, in the literature, the knowledge of the elderly population regarding preventive measures for Sexually Transmitted Infections and the factors influencing access to these methods in Primary Health Care in Brazil, considering barriers and facilitators. Inclusion Criteria: Documents of various types, whether published or unpublished, will be considered, including scientific articles, books or book chapters, theses, monographs, and dissertations. Analytical observational studies (cohort studies, case-control studies), descriptive observational studies (cross-sectional studies, case series, and case reports), experimental studies (randomized clinical trials), and quasi-experimental studies (non-randomized clinical trials) may also be included. There will be no time restriction or language limitation. Methods: This is a scoping review using the JBI methodology and the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Searches will be conducted in EMBASE, PUBMED, Scopus, LILACS, BDENF, IBECS, Western Pacific Index Medicus (WPRO), Cochrane Library, SciELO, Google Scholar, and Open Access Theses and Dissertations (OATD). Studies will be included in the Mendeley software and subsequently exported to the Rayyan platform. The latter will include the blinded and independent selection of studies by two reviewers, with conflicts resolved through a consensus meeting. Data will be extracted in pairs using a customized instrument designed for this purpose. The findings will be presented in tables, diagrams, or tabular formats, accompanied by a narrative summary.
