NURSING ROLE IN THE HORMONIZATION OF TRANSGENDER PERSONS IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE: SCOPING REVIEW PROTOCOL
Objective: To map the scientific production on the professional role of nurses in the hormonization of transgender persons in Primary Health Care. Method: This is a scoping review protocol, conducted according to the methodological guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute Manual for Evidence Synthesis and reported based on the PRISMA-ScR checklist (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews). The research question was developed using the PCC mnemonic strategy (Population – Concept – Context), as follows: P: professional nurses; C: hormonization for transgender persons; and C: Primary Health Care. Scientific publications and grey literature will be included, with no restrictions regarding language, publication period, or methodological design. The search will be carried out in four sequential stages: Preliminary mapping of descriptors and free terms; Structured search in indexed scientific databases; Identification of grey literature; and Manual search in the reference lists of included studies. Study screening will be performed using the Rayyan QCRI software (for indexed databases) and manually (for grey literature). Study selection and data extraction will be conducted by two independent and previously trained reviewers, using a pre-developed instrument. Extracted data will be analyzed through basic qualitative content analysis, using an inductive approach. The results will be organized and presented using a PRISMA-ScR flowchart. The findings will be presented in a descriptive and synthetic manner and may be illustrated with tables, charts, and/or images, depending on the nature and complexity of the data.
