Protocol for a multinational systematic review of gender-informed Workload Allocation Models (WAMs) in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)

This review is one phase of a multi-phased study in which we aim to develop recommendations for equity informed WAMs in Irish HEIs. The objective of this review is to conduct a multinational academic literature search on gender-informed WAMs in HEIs, which we will submit to an international peer-reviewed journal in the field of education research. The review will answer the following research question: How is gender inequity addressed in HEI workload allocation models in the multinational empirical literature? This review will have a broader audience, while situating our project on Irish HEIs in a wider global context. The review will inform the next phases of our project, particularly through elements/components of equity-informed WAMs from the empirical literature that can be applied to WAMs in the Irish context.
