Understanding Statistics Anxiety: A Scoping Review
The present scoping review aims to screen the existing psychological literature on statistics anxiety. To date, the available literature is generally sparse and incoherent. Given the lack of consensus on its theoretical foundation, this study provides an updated consolidation of the extant psychological research on statistics anxiety. Specifically, it maps the key antecedents, outcomes, and correlates of statistics anxiety. In doing so, the current review strives to inform future research on refining the theoretical construct of statistics anxiety. Ultimately, the efficacy of its measures and interventions is contingent on the coherence of its conceptualisation.
