Trump, Spectacle, and the Fall of Diplomacy: A Third Generation IR Analysis
This research paper introduces the "Third Generation of International Relations" (IR), a theory developed by Osama Qatrani to reinterpret diplomacy in the age of spectacle, technology, and emotional populism. Through a critical case study of Donald Trump's presidency, the paper analyzes how classical diplomacy is being disrupted by media logic, narrative warfare, and algorithmic leadership. The work combines comparative analysis, cultural critique, and theoretical innovation to propose a post-institutional diplomatic framework. The paper includes comparative tables, symbolic analysis, and a vision for rebuilding trust in global leadership.
