Automotive multi-gigabit ethernet physical layer in system context for autonomous vehicles

This research study investigates the two essential Physical Layer (PHY) system performance aspects (i.e., PHY system context aspects of the automotive communication channel) as criteria for a pre- development analysis for Next Generation (NG) in-vehicle connectivity. Here, both the NG electrical as well as optical automotive Ethernet communication channels and their components are taken into consideration. This research study also defines the physical and technical limitations for designing, developing, and validating multi-Gigabit data rates (with focus towards beyond 10Gbps data rates).
