Simultaneous NO\nand CO Removal through Bimetallic\nRedox Pairs Composed of Mesoporous Indium Oxide

Designing new catalytic materials with bi- or trimetallic\ncores\nfor higher catalytic performance is a key aspect of current research.\nThe current research describes the effect of an indium-based composite\ncatalyst, synthesized through the glycine combustion route, for the\nconversion of toxic CO and NO into nontoxic ones. Among the prepared\nmaterials, the cobalt–copper-composed indium oxide catalyst\nexhibited the highest performance in detoxifying CO and NO. The notable\nimprovement in the redox nature of the mesoporous catalyst displayed\nthe CO–O2 conversion at 160 °C and NO–CO\nconversion at 220 °C, respectively. The insertion of Co along\nwith Cu tends to enhance the redox pair as attributed to the synergistic\ninterplay among Co2+/3+–Cu1+/2+, as evidenced\nthrough the TPR profile. The presented trimetallic core of indium,\ncopper, and cobalt facilitates high surface properties, highlighting\nthe importance of precise effectiveness in catalyst design in NO and\nCO conversion.
