European manufacturing requires a shift to adaptable, high-quality production, leveraging smart manufacturing and digital technologies to stay competitive amid rising product variety and shorter lifecycles. Smart manufacturing and mass customization, supported by digital pipelines, simulation-based twins, and data-driven intelligence, can address these needs, but SMEs still face barriers such as dependency on physical prototypes, modular production costs, and data management issues. This paper presents the development of an integrated and interoperable digital pipeline tool capable of aggregating and orchestrating data from product development and multidisciplinary modelling tools, materials properties and materials characterization, together with manufacturing and product quality assurance.
