Pattern Synthesis of Linear Antenna Array using Honey Badger Algorithm
The honey badger algorithm (HBA) is a nature inspired metaheuristic algorithm influenced by the foraging nature of honey badger. In this paper, HBA is applied for synthesizing the pattern of linear antenna array for peak and close in side lobe level (SLL) reduction, side lobe average power minimization with null positioning and beamwidth constraint by optimizing the excitation current of array elements. Four design examples are illustrated to demonstrate the effectiveness of HBA for pattern synthesis in comparison to the other state of art metaheuristic algorithms. The simulation result shows that HBA performs better than other algorithms in all the design examples. HBA also presents fast rate of convergence which demonstrates its utility in solving design optimization problems of electromagnetics.
