Cu/Pd-Catalyzed Domino Carbonylative Synthesis of\nPolycyclic Carbonyl-Containing Quinolin-2(1<i>H</i>)‑one\nScaffolds from α‑Bromocarbonyls

A novel Cu/Pd-catalyzed domino radical\ncyclization and C–H\ncarbonylation of α-bromocarbonyls has been developed, which\nenables the rapid incorporation of CO unit into polycyclic quinolin-2(1<i>H</i>)-one scaffolds. By using Mo(CO)6 as the CO\nsource, the reaction proceeded smoothly to furnish various polycyclic\ncarbonyl-containing quinolin-2(1<i>H</i>)-one derivatives\nin high yields. Notably, this method could be used in the late-stage\nmodification of biologically active molecules such as estrone.
