DNA Origami Guided Helical Assembly of Gold Nanorods\nwith Tailored Optical Chirality
Self-assembly\nof plasmonic nanoparticles into chiral superstructures\nhas demonstrated chiroptical performance due to the strong electric/magnetic\ncoupling. In particular, helical plasmonic superstructures have drawn\nincreasing attention for exhibiting exceptionally strong chiroptical\nactivity. Herein, taking advantage of the addressability and programmability,\nwe designed a triangular prism DNA origami as the template to assemble\ngold nanorods into finite-sized helical structures with an end-to-end\nfashion. The rules governing the chiral assembly of nanoparticles\nwere established, and we systematically investigated the correlation\nbetween the configurations of helical plasmonic structures and their\noptical chirality by finely tuning the orientation and number of gold\nnanorods within.
