Dynamic Behavior\nof Above-Room-Temperature Robust\nSkyrmions in 2D Van der Waals Magnet

Magnetic skyrmions are swirl-like spin configurations\nthat present\ntopological properties, which have great potential as information\ncarriers for future high-density and low-energy-consumption devices.\nThe optimization of skyrmion-hosting materials that can be integrated\nwith semiconductor-based circuits is the primary challenge for their\nindustrialization. Two-dimensional van der Waals ferromagnets are\nemerging materials that have excellent carrier mobility and compatibility\nwith integrated circuits, making them an ideal candidate for spintronic\ndevices. Here, we report the realization of skyrmions at above room\ntemperature in the 2D ferromagnet Fe3GaTe2.\nThe thickness tunability of their skyrmion size and the formation\nof the skyrmion lattice are revealed. Furthermore, we demonstrate\nthat the skyrmions can be moved by a low-density current at room temperature,\ntogether with an apparent skyrmion Hall effect, which is consistent\nwith our quantitative micromagnetic simulation. Abstract

Our work offers a\npromising 2D material platform for harnessing magnetic skyrmions in\npractical device applications.
