Fe(II)-Iminopyridine\nCatalyst for the Regioselective\nSynthesis of Oxazolidinones Using Carbon Dioxide
This study presents the application of a novel Fe-iminopyridine\ncatalyst for the regioselective synthesis of oxazolidinones from carbon\ndioxide and aziridines. Our findings demonstrate that the Fe-iminopyridine\ncatalyst containing imidazole functional group offers promising efficiency\nand facilitates a sustainable approach to green chemical synthesis\nat 50 °C and 10 bar CO2 pressure in a single-component\nFe catalyst system. Various aziridines with carboxylic acid-derived\nsubstituents were transformed into 5-carbonyl substituted oxazolidinone\nproducts. The regioselective synthesis of oxazolidinones followed\nby the reduction enhances their\nutility for the pharmaceutically valuable compounds.
