Pt-Nanoparticle-Loaded Porous SnO2 for\nOptimizing H2S‑Sensing Performance at Room Temperature

Achieving\nthe real-time detection of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) based\non metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) gas sensors is of great\nsignificance for rapid disease diagnosis. However, the high-power\nconsumption and poor selectivity severely limit its practice application.\nIn this study, a platinum nanoparticle (Pt NPs)-loaded porous metal–organic\nframework (MOF)-derived SnO2 material was successfully\nsynthesized to optimize the H2S-sensing performance at\nroom temperature. The optimized Pt-loaded porous SnO2-based\ngas sensor exhibited remarkably high sensitivity (712–10 ppm),\nfast response (21 s), good selectivity, and extremely low detection\nlimit for H2S (10 ppb) at room temperature. The in-depth\nanalysis demonstrated that the porous structure of Sn-MOF can provide\nadequate active reaction sites for gas molecules. Moreover, the uniform\ndistribution of surface-loaded Pt NPs can initiate electron and chemical\nsensitization effects, thereby improving the sensing performance.\nThe successful application of Pt NPs provides a novel approach to\nimprove the room-temperature (RT) sensing performance of metal-oxide-semiconductor-based\ngas sensors.
