The effect of different harvest ages on the productivity of maize and sorghum green fodder

\nThe forage produced is expected to meet continuity of availability. One solution presented to this problem is hydroponic green fodder. This research aims to examine the effect of different harvest ages on maize and sorghum green fodder. This research used a 2 x 2 factorial designwith treatment factors in the form of seeds consisting of two levels (maize seeds and sorghum seeds), and differences in harvest age consisting of two levels (6th day and 12th day). The research results showed that there was a significant effect (P<0.05) on the productivity of maize and sorghum whichwas influenced by differences in harvest age. The results show that the 12thharvest age produces the highest plant biomass of 7.51 kg/m2, while the 6thharvest age produces the highest plant biomass of 4.73 kg/m2. Maize plantsobtain higher biomass and conversion compared to sorghum plants, but thereare differences in response to growth variables. Plant height growth in maizeis superior, while sorghum plants are superior in the number of leaves.\n
