Cu0‑Promoted\nTruce–Smiles\nRearrangement for Aryl-Difluoromethylenation of CC Bonds via\na Reductive Radical–Polar Crossover Process
An efficient Cu0-promoted\nTruce–Smiles\nrearrangement\nfor the aryl-difluoromethylenation of CC bonds by the reaction\nof <i>N</i>-alkyl-<i>N</i>-(arylsulfonyl)methacrylamide\nand 2-bromodifluoromethyl-1,3-benzodiazole via a reductive radical–polar\ncrossover process under mild reaction conditions is presented. The\nprotocol enables practical access to a variety of single regioisomer\nα-aryl-β-difluoromethylene amides in good to excellent\nyields through consecutive difluoromethylenation, radical–polar\ncrossover, 1,4-aryl migration, SO2 extrusion, and N–H\nbond formation cascade reaction.
