Carbon-Chain Elongation\nby Co-Catalyzed Selective\nC–C Bond Cleavage and Subsequent Silylperoxylation of Alkene\nSubstrates

A Co-catalyzed selective C–C bond cleavage followed\nby the\nsilylperoxylation of alkene substrates generated a series of alkylsilyl\nperoxides with good yields and selectivities. Further transformation\nthrough transition-metal-catalyzed cleavage of the resulting alkylsilyl\nperoxides and subsequent functionalization with coupling partners\ncould generate a series of dicarbonyl compounds. This two-step transformation\nwas carried out in a one-pot manner, which enhances the practicability\nof this approach. A plausible reaction mechanism was proposed to interpret\nthe C–C bond cleavage and subsequent silylperoxylation of the\nalkene substrates.
