Convergent and\nStereospecific Synthesis of Highly\nSubstituted Azepines
This study reported a convergent\npattern to stereospecifically\nsynthesize 4,5-dihydrogen azepine from simple and readily available\nstarting materials, addressing synthetic and stereoselective issues.\nSeveral synthetically important transformations, such as Simmon–Smith\ncyclopropanation, halogenation, and hydrogenation, demonstrated the\nutilities of this strategy. Particularly, the final azepine products\ncould effectively contract into highly substituted pyridine derivatives\nthrough an intramolecular oxidation rearrangement.
