Significantly\nReduced Rotation Frequency for Controlling\nNear-Field Heat Transfer between Rotating Objects by a Nonreciprocal\nSubstrate
Reversing near-field thermal radiation between a rotating\npair\nof hot and cold dipolar objects has recently been theoretically reported\nat low temperature. We demonstrate that such a reversal between two\nindium antimonide (InSb) nanoparticles occurs at lower rotation frequency\nat room temperature under an external magnetic field. Additionally,\na nearby InSb substrate significantly relaxes the requirement of high\nrotation by acting as a heat sink and exciting surface modes that\ncouple with particle resonances, both of which are tuned by the magnetic\nfield. Our results provide a critical understanding about reversing\nnear-field heat transfer between nanostructures with reduced rotation\nfrequency, pointing to the possibility of experimental observation\nof heat reversal around room temperature.
