Synthesis of Azocine-Fused\nIndoles via Gold(I)-Catalyzed\nCyclization of Azido-alkynes

Herein, we report a gold(I)-catalyzed\ncascade cyclization\nof azido-alkynes\nbearing an enol ester moiety, leading to indole-fused eight-membered\nrings. This method allows for the one-step construction of indole\nand tetrahydroazocin-4-one via an α-imino gold carbene intermediate.\nThe resulting scaffold would be useful for accessing natural products\nwith an eight-membered ring-fused indole moiety.
