A Rapid, Mild and\nDirect Route to Sulfonimidoyl Fluoride\nfrom Sulfenamide
We\ndevelop a rapid and mild protocol to access sulfonimidoyl\nfluoride-[S(VI)]\nfrom sulfenamide-[S(II)] directly. The transformation occurs via the\nreaction of sulfenamide with NCS (<i>N</i>-chlorosuccinimide),\nwater, and TBAF in acetonitrile. Water and TBAF act as the source\nfor SO bond formation and fluoride, respectively. The reaction\ntakes a very short time (within 5 min). The drug molecules, such as\nCarbamazepine and Levetiracetam attached sulfonimidoyl fluorides are\nalso achieved following this protocol. Furthermore, sulfonimidoyl\nfluoride is transformed into sulfonimidamide in the presence of AlCl3. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first report detailing\nthe synthesis of sulfonimidoyl fluoride-[S(VI)] directly from S(II)-sulfenamide.
