Preliminary Classification of Two TESS-Observed Eclipsing Binary Candidates: Galilei-25 and Galileo-17
This study presents the preliminary classification of two previously uncharacterized stars using Full Frame Images (FFIs) from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). The stars, designated Galilei-25 and Galileo-17, exhibit periodic flux variations consistent with eclipsing binary systems. Despite being listed in catalogs such as Tycho-2 and UCAC2, neither object had prior variable star classification or published light curve analysis. The author acknowledges the use of OpenAI’s language model for assistance in drafting certain sections of this work.
