Search for resonant and nonresonant production of pairs of dijet resonances with b-jets in the final state using the CMS detector at √s = 13 TeV
A search is performed for the pair production of dijet resonances with identical mass in final states containing at least one b-tagged jet per dijet pair. This analysis represents the first search for resonant paired dijet production with bottom quarks in the final state and the first extension of the nonresonant search to the full Run II dataset. The search is conducted separately for cases where the four-jet production proceeds through an intermediate resonant state and for cases of nonresonant production. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb⁻¹, collected by the CMS detector from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of √s = 13 TeV. The results are interpreted within the framework of R-parity-violating supersymmetry, assuming the pair production of top squarks decaying via λ′′₃₂₃ coupling for the nonresonant search, and a scalar diquark resonance decaying to two identical scalar diquarks for the resonant search. Model-independent upper limits at the 95% confidence level (CL) are provided for the production cross section multiplied by the branching fraction and acceptance.
