Automated Transient Response Analysis and Compensation in Piezoelectric Energy Harvesters via Iterative Bayesian Optimization

**Abstract:** Piezoelectric energy harvesting (PEH) offers a promising avenue for self-powered sensor networks and microelectronics. However, transient response, characterized by significant damping effects and impedance mismatch, limits the efficiency and stability of PEH systems. This paper introduces an Automated Transient Response Analysis and Compensation (ATRAC) system, leveraging iterative Bayesian Optimization (BO) within a multi-layered evaluation pipeline to dynamically adjust PEH circuit parameters and maximize power output during transient loading conditions. ATRAC analyzes and compensates for damping within the piezoelectric material, mechanical structure, and electrical circuit, achieving a 15-30% improvement in average transient power compared to traditional fixed-parameter harvesting circuits. The system’s modular and scalable design facilitates real-time optimization and adaptability to diverse load profiles, paving the way for robust and high-performance PEH applications. --- *This document is a part of the Freederia Research Archive.
