Emotional intelligence competencies used by the clinical teacher in internship_a Scoping Review Protocol.pdf
Objective: The objective of this scoping review is to map and describe research that includes emotional intelligence competencies that are used by clinical teacher in internship and to gain a clearer picture of the concepts related.Introduction: A clinical teacher with humanist attributes and emotional intelligence (EI) competences pays attention to the emotional dimension of the teaching-learning process. The use of EI in clinical teaching has numerous advantages that contribute to better learning outcomes.Inclusion criteria: This scoping review will include qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods, and evidence synthesis studies, as well as gray literature relating to emotional intelligence competencies used by clinical teachers in internship for the past 10 years. The search will not be limited by language, or geographic location. Methods: We will follow the JBI guidance for scoping reviews. We will (1) search multiple electronic databases from inception, (2) search for unpublished studies, and (3) scan the reference lists of included studies. Screening and data extraction will be conducted by 2 researchers. A third researcher will resolve discrepancies. Two researchers will categorize the study results into broader concepts using content analysis. The findings will be presented in maps, tables or diagrams, with a narrative summary that will highlight key research questions, designs, methods, and related concepts.
