First Scientific Classification of GX1: A Low Surface Brightness Galaxy Candidate
This paper presents the first scientific classification of GX1, an unclassified celestial source located at RA = 338.1620973 and DEC = -11.9642899. While listed positionally in catalogs like GSC 2.4.2, unWISE, and CatWISE, GX1 has not been previously classified. Using FITS imaging, light profile analysis, signal-to-noise evaluation, and AI-based classification, It is determined that GX1 is a strong candidate for a low surface brightness (LSB) galaxy or a high-redshift galaxy. The author acknowledges the use of OpenAI’s language model for assistance in drafting certain sections of this work.
