Concept of a Centrifugal Propellantless Engine

Current deep space probe propulsion methods mainly include chemical propulsion, electric propulsion, and solar sail propulsion. However, chemical propulsion is limited by fuel storage, while electric propulsion (such as Hall thrusters) offers high specific impulse but is constrained by power consumption and lifespan. In recent years, propellantless propulsion technology has gained attention, though its physical mechanism remains controversial. This study proposes a centrifugal force vector synthesis thruster, which achieves directional net thrust by precisely controlling the position and phase of sliders in a rotating system. This approach has potential advantages such as long lifespan, low energy consumption, and no need for propellant. By periodically modulating the vector synthesis of centrifugal force, this study aims to generate net thrust without violating the law of momentum conservation.
