The activity of stimulation of mistletoe extract of Dendropthoe pentandra L. Miq to squamosa epidermis cells of rabbit

One of the bioactive compounds from flavanol of the mistletoe leaf extract is called Quercetin-Like Compounds (QLCs), which have many properties such as antimicrobial and anti-virus. It is also known that these compounds contain elements genistein which theoretically can protect the lipid bilayer of eukaryotic cells. So that it has the potential to produce epithelial proliferation power. This research was conducted to prove the stimulation of epithelization in the skin of rabbits. Twenty-five rabbits were grouped into 4 groups as follows; groups one, two, three, and four were used trial at 4.5% (w/v), 6% (w/v), 8% (w/v), and 10% (w/v) of jelly-containing QLCs. One group for negative control was used for trials with placebo compounds of jelly. The application of jelly to the exfoliation of the skin was given three times a day for 5 days. The observed were using methods of epithelialization of the jelly containing QLCS. The results showed that the test groups of QLCs at 6% were positively stimulated in rabbit skins (p<0.05). Research conclusion showed that QLCs have stimulated epithelialization in the skin of rabbits.
