A Job Scheduling Model

This article describes a work scheduling model in which employees are assigned tasks with associated ratings, subject to time constraints for their completion. Two theorems are proven that enable optimization of the search for a schedule with the maximum total task rating. A Python program implementing a randomized search for the optimal schedule based on the proven theorems is provided.

Abstract

This article describes a work scheduling model in which employees are assigned tasks with associated ratings, subject to time constraints for their completion. Two theorems are proven that enable optimization of the search for a schedule with the maximum total task rating. A Python program implementing a randomized search for the optimal schedule based on the proven theorems is provided.
