Timing of Introduction of Formula Milk Influences Exclusive Breastfeeding Rates

Introduction: In Egypt exclusive breastfeeding rates are showing decliningtrends from 40% in the year 2000 to 13.6% in 2014. Partial breastfeeding is thepredominant pattern in the first six months. These practices result inmalnutrition, and increase morbidity and mortality among infants and youngchildren. Hence it is important to understand the underlying causes thatinfluence the timing of introduction of formula feeds.
