Digital Immortality and the transformation of the political landscape: a philosophical and political science analysis

This article is devoted to a comprehensive philosophical study of the political implications of digital immortality, the hypothetical possibility of transferring human consciousness into a digital environment and achieving potentially infinite existence. The phenomenon of digital immortality is considered not only as a technological breakthrough, but also as an event capable of radically transforming the political landscape, challenging the fundamental principles of political organization, distribution of power and international relations. The article analyzes some key aspects, such as potential threats to democracy associated with inequality in access to political influence, strengthening oligarchic tendencies and weakening the turnover of power. The problem of political representation of "immortal" and "mortal" citizens is considered, as well as the transformation of forms of political participation in the context of digital immortality. The risks of concentration of power in the hands of "immortal" elites, the emergence of new forms of political dominance and control, such as "digital dictatorship", "technocracy" and "genetic aristocracy" are analyzed. At the same time, the possibilities for developing new, more democratic and fair models of governance are explored, including direct democracy, decentralization of power and "liquid democracy".The influence of digital immortality on the balance of power in world politics, the potential for new conflicts and global instability associated with competition for resources and technology are considered. At the same time, the possibilities for strengthening international cooperation and solving global problems, such as climate change and ensuring sustainable development, are analyzed. The article uses an interdisciplinary approach that combines the methods of the philosophy of politics, social philosophy, political science and futurology. The analysis is based on a critical understanding of classical and modern philosophical and political theories, as well as on the study of modern trends in the development of technologies and their potential impact on society.
