Evolutionary Algorithm-Driven Hyperparameter Optimization for Robust Phenotype Prediction in Microbial Adaptation (EAHPO-RAP)
**Abstract:** Microbial adaptation presents a persistent challenge in various domains, from drug discovery to bioremediation. Traditional phenotype prediction methods often struggle with robustness and accuracy across diverse genetic backgrounds and environmental conditions. This paper introduces Evolutionary Algorithm-Driven Hyperparameter Optimization for Robust Phenotype Prediction in Microbial Adaptation (EAHPO-RAP), a novel framework leveraging evolutionary algorithms (EAs) and advanced machine learning models to autonomously optimize predictor hyperparameters, thereby maximizing predictive accuracy and robustness. The system operates by embedding a surrogate model of the phenotype prediction process within an EA, enabling exploration of significantly larger hyperparameter spaces than traditional grid or random search. Coupled with rigorous validation against experimental data, EAHPO-RAP demonstrates a substantial advance in the predictive capabilities for microbial adaptation. --- *This document is a part of the Freederia Research Archive.
