Introduction: Increasing breastfeeding is a public health priority supported by strong evidence. In 2009,the Egyptian Minister of Health released a decree in 2014 §36-2014, requiring all hospitals abide to theWorld Health Organization’s (WHO’s) and UNICEF recommended “Ten Steps for SuccessfulBreastfeeding” (Ten Steps). This legislation strengthened the national program of Breastfeeding promotionof Maternal and Child Health Department.
