Genetic Garniture of Man & Its Applications in Therapeutics
The human genome consists of 3 billion DNA base pairs spread across 23 chromosome pairs. To understand the DNA blueprint of humans or any species, it is essential to determine and analyze the precise sequence of these bases. In 1984, biophysicist Robert Sinsheimer highlighted the availability of technology to sequence the human genome, calling it a historically significant opportunity to decode the full set of DNA instructions for a human being, which consists of around 3 billion base pairs.
