Exploring Patient and Healthcare Provider Experiences with Chronic Illness and Palliative Care at Maua Methodist Hospital, Meru County, Kenya

This research explores the lived experiences of patients with chronic illness and healthcare providers engaged in palliative care at Maua Methodist Hospital, a rural facility in Meru County, Kenya. Through a mixed-methods approach involving interviews, surveys, and thematic analysis, the study identifies key emotional, psychological, and systemic challenges. The findings highlight the need for integrated, culturally sensitive models of palliative care that strengthen both provider support and patient dignity in resource-constrained settings.<br>
