Philosophical views on consciousness: the study of different views on its nature and the possibility of digitization
This article is devoted to the philosophical analysis of the possibility of digitizing consciousness, a complex problem at the intersection of philosophy of mind and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. In this article, we consider four main philosophical approaches to understanding consciousness: dualism, materialism, functionalism, informationism. In this article, we conclude that the question of the possibility of digitizing consciousness remains open. Despite the fact that none of the philosophical concepts provides an exhaustive answer, their analysis helps to outline the boundaries of the possible and highlight key problems. At the same time, we emphasize the importance of a philosophical understanding of the nature of consciousness in order to assess the potential ethical and existential consequences of digitization.
