Digital immortality and its impact on the socio-economic structures of society

This article is devoted to the philosophical study of the phenomenon of digital immortality and its potential impact on the fundamental socio-economic structures of society. Digital immortality, which implies the transfer of human consciousness to the digital environment and its hypothetically infinite existence, is a radical challenge for humanity, requiring a rethinking of the basic concepts of life, death, personality and consciousness. The article analyzes various aspects of digital immortality. Changes in competition, labor mobility, the emergence of new professions and the problem of age discrimination are considered. Potential benefits for economic growth associated with increased labor productivity and stimulating innovation, as well as risks associated with overpopulation and depletion of resources are analyzed. Changes in health care costs, new challenges for medical care and ethical dilemmas associated with maintaining digital existence are examined. The crisis of existing pension systems and the need to search for new models of pension provision are substantiated. The article uses an interdisciplinary approach that combines philosophical analysis with data from economics, sociology and futurology. Particular attention is paid to the ethical aspects of digital immortality, such as the problem of social inequality, the right to “digital death” and responsibility for “digital identities”.Our goal in this article is to present a philosophical understanding of the phenomenon of digital immortality and its potential consequences for society, as well as to stimulate public discussion about the challenges and opportunities associated with this new technological reality.
