Automated Structural Health Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance for High-Voltage Power Transmission Lines using Deep Learning and Time-Series Analysis

**Abstract:** This paper introduces a novel system for automated structural health monitoring (SHM) and predictive maintenance of high-voltage power transmission lines utilizing a multi-modal deep learning approach coupled with advanced time-series analysis. Current SHM techniques rely heavily on manual inspections and discrete sensor data, leading to inefficiencies and potential for undetected degradation. This system integrates data from multiple sources – vibration sensors, acoustic emission sensors, visual drone imagery, and meteorological data – to create a comprehensive health assessment model capable of predicting potential failures with high accuracy. The proposed methodology offers a significant reduction in maintenance costs, improves grid reliability, and enhances safety by proactively identifying and addressing potential structural issues before they escalate into costly outages or catastrophic failures. The approach is immediately commercializable using existing drone technology and readily deployable with minimal infrastructure investment. --- *This document is a part of the Freederia Research Archive.
