Pluskwiaki różnoskrzydłe (Hemiptera: Heteroptera) Jasieniowej Góry w Beskidzie Zachodnim

True-bugs (Hemiptera: Heteroptera) of Jasieniowa Mt. in Western Beskidy Mts. The Jasieniowa Góra Range is a limestone massif within the Silesian Foothills, composed of Cieszyn limestone, representing the oldest rocks, dating back 140-150 million years, of the Outer Carpathian flysch. Deposits of Cieszyn limestone in the Jasieniowa Góra area have been exploited since the 17th century. The slopes of the massif exhibit a diverse morphology, being heavily dissected due to natural erosional processes and additionally incised by numerous excavations from former quarries. The limestone bedrock and abandoned quarries contribute to the occurrence of phytocoenoses rich in calciphilous and thermophilous species. The forests of Jasieniowa Góra constitute the best-preserved woodland complex within the Silesian Foothills. Its immediate proximity to an essential migratory corridor, the Moravian Gate, combined with the aforementioned ecological values, provided the rationale for initiating studies on the species composition of Heteroptera (true bugs) in this area. The authors collected the material presented in this study between 2021 and 2024. A total of 139 Heteroptera species representing 19 families were recorded. Among them are rarely reported species such as Scolopostethus grandis, Charagochilus spiralifer, and Mermitelocerus schmidtii.

The Jasieniowa Góra Range is a limestone massif within the Silesian Foothills, composed of Cieszyn limestone, representing the oldest rocks, dating back 140-150 million years, of the Outer Carpathian flysch. The limestone bedrock and abandoned quarries contribute to the occurrence of phytocoenoses rich in calciphilous and thermophilous species.
